Having Chromebooks would give students more time to become technologically savvy in our rapidly changing world. Chromebooks would allow students to practice acquiring English at a more rapid pace through online language programs, typing skills, researching skills and access to online individualized interventions. Many of my students do not have reliable access to online resources our school district provides. Most parents can only afford to buy a small tablet for home use and even then, may not have internet access in the home. This is one reason why my students need as much time as possible to access technology. Another reason is majority of my students are very limited in the amount of help they can receive at home. More online intervention time at school would help bridge this gap.
