Located three blocks from Lake Michigan and one mile from Northwestern University, our school is a culturally diverse K-5 learning environment serving 580 students. My students come from all sorts of backgrounds and bring to our classroom so many beautiful and vast experiences. My students speak a variety of languages and have roots in a number of countries. We're socioeconomically diverse as well. In the four walls of our classroom, we are a team. Besides the hum of thinking and the buzz of collaborative work, one can hear my Scholars sharing deep thinking, bringing up big ideas, and asking thoughtful questions. Additionally, the 3rd graders share a common language of kindness and support. Not a day goes by that one Scholar hasn't motivated or inspired a classmate.
