Working in a community of students who do not have access to learning materials means that I have to capitalize on the resources I have. Having access to Big Books means that my students will be able to read along and engage in lessons as we learn essential reading skills from further away. This is especially important now, as we head into virtual and modified learning environments. With big books I can have students see my expressions on the screen while still being able to see the big clearly. Once we move to a modified in person learning environment, they won't have to sit as close as we continue with our ELA instruction.
