I am a teacher in a suburban school in Ohio where we have students from Kindergarten to 6th grade. It is a close, tight-knit community that really strives to bring out the best in every child and believes that every child is a gift to the community. I have the most amazing group of 7 and 8 year olds! They are resourceful, helpful, considerate, and are there for each other both socially and academically. We are all all Coaches in my room- they help coach each other through work that is hard- this not only helps the student that is struggling but also shows that the child who is coaching understands the material because they can explain it to someone else. I have many children who receive specialized educational services outside the classroom along with several who are in the gifted program.
