For the past two years that I have been teaching, I have taken a more traditional approach in my classroom set-up. I always took pride in decorating my classroom and wanted it to be inviting for all my students. I had students sitting at desks and often gave them the choice to sit on the floor. This year all that is going to change in some ways. I want to create a space in which students are excited to learn every day. I want them to be able to have a sense of entitlement in which they can choose a space where they are going to learn best. For many of us, that space is not a desk and a chair. I want to be able to create a classroom that is designed for them to be comfortable and promote more movement and collaboration. As a donor, you will not only be providing a comfortable space for my students, but you will also give them with the ability to choose where they learn best. The Hokki stools will be used for multiple uses by the students including working at a table or leaning on a lap desk while working with a peer. The balance disks will also create more choices of comfortable spots to choose from and learn.
