I want to be able to step back and truly empower students. STEM challenges hit multiple standards at once, while also hitting several learning styles. These activities encourage students to be creative problem solvers. Why wouldn't we want to develop this in our kids?? I feel that this is where the students find their voice. Everyone gets to be successful! Doing just half of the teaching is not enough! Students need hands on and engaging activities. The sooner we can teach kids to think creatively the better. The students will be able to create things like catapults, towers, mazes, bridges, buildings, roller coasters, flood barriers, with ping pong balls, pipe cleaners, magnetic tiles, building blocks, gears, straws, cotton balls, playdough, and tape.
