My students' learning abilities and artistic levels vary. Some students finish their work faster than others. Adding a small library full of art related books will allow my students to be independent, responsible, and continue to be actively engaged after finishing their classwork. Students will be allowed to access the art library if they finish their classwork before the rest of the class. I would like for my library to be a reflection of our community's diversity. My students have a love and passion for reading! I like to incorporate literacy into my lessons to promote reading in the art room. This is my second year teaching and my first year at this K-8 school. I had a large library at my old school with lots of books that the old art teacher had left in the classroom. I need help with building a new library in my new art room. The few books that I have already bought are appropriate for younger artists. I need help expanding my library to better serve my middle school artists.
