Our school is like a small United Nations. We are culturally and racially diverse with 64% Hispanic, 17% Black, 11% Asian, 6% white, and 2% multi-racial. Sixty-one percent of our students are English Language learners speaking 32 different foreign languages and 89% of our students are economically disadvantaged who receive free or reduced price lunch support. These students depend on the school to open the world of opportunities to them. They don't all have the advantages some children have with all the latest gadgets at home where they can learn to code in their free time. Many of them do not even have Internet at home. We don't want their lack of "advantages" at home to put them at risk of not being exposed to the possibilities of the future.
