I work with 8th grade students who are bright, intensely curious, and make every day interesting with their sense of humor. While many of my students have learning disabilities and reading delays, they are extremely resilient. Some have individualized education plans. A majority of the students do not have books or reading materials in their home environment and are unable to access a library and other community resources. They feel embarrassed and try to hide their low reading levels from their peers. Through all of the challenges the kids face, they demonstrate enthusiasm, a hilarious sense of humor, and a determination to reach the next level in their academic careers. Now we need your help to keep their success going!
