Interdisciplinary learning is a great way to explore the various ways in which academic disciplines connect and cross throughout a curriculum. The goal of this project is to provide students a means to connect the literary novel Wool to real-world issues of air pollution and its harmful effects on the human body. My rural students need these supplies in order to facilitate this unique learning experience. This project will make a difference in the lives of my students by allowing them to have a hands-on experience with literature and science. Students will be able to test air quality for themselves and to research the topic within the context of a science fiction novel that explores the same topic.
