My students will greatly benefit from a library of mentor texts. The books I have chosen come from many genres that will teach them how to think deeply, ask questions, monitor comprehension, and so much more. Reading aloud each day allows my students to experience the joy of a story. Within these read aloud texts, lessons will be taught that will strengthen grammar skills, expose my students to vibrant vocabulary, and instill the love of reading. Each week a new read aloud text will focus on different comprehension skills and strategies that will take my learners on a reading journey like never before.
