My students are curious to learn Working in an alternative school program allows my students to receive a second chance at being successful. While receiving strong support from the students home schools and the community, our program relies heavily on grant funding and funds for science supplies are limited. Our students come from a diverse range of backgrounds and experiences and school has not always been a positive or pleasant experience. I want to be the unique science teacher that allows these students the chance to touch science, and explore with boundaries and meaningful and engaging learning experiences. My students learn best when able to manipulate materials, this enhances their learning and increases the opportunities for positive classroom interactions
