I'm an elementary music teacher in a rural town in Idaho. Due to budget cuts, I now teach elementary music at all seven of our elementary schools in the district. By the end of the school year I will have taught music to nearly 2,000 elementary students The students I teach come from a variety of backgrounds as well as economic circumstances. Several of my students qualify for free and reduced lunch. Although, my students do not allow their economic situations to "rain on their parade"! My students love life and learning. They come to music each week ready to listen, sing, move, play instruments, and explore!
