My students come to school with many things already working against them. While I cannot control what happens before they come to me, I would love to take one thing off that list. Today's students face a variety of uphill battles, ADHD, autism, sensory disorders, etc. As their teacher, I need to help them, and this project will do just that. These seating options will give students a choice and the opportunity to be successful. Standing desks will be used by students who do their best work while standing. While continuing to work, they can rock, move and stretch their legs. The stability balls will allow students to continue working while rocking and bouncing to meet their sensory needs. Students will be able to choose a working environment that works best for their individual needs. Some will work better when able to stand. Others will work better when they can sit and bounce or wiggle while they work.
