Please help get diverse books into the hands of my students. During COVID, I hope to send some books home with students if we cannot meet in person. If we can meet in person, students will still be given the opportunity to take these books home, so reading can continue beyond the school day. The digital subscription will be for virtual mini sessions I will plan with students who need additional help with reading. We will attempt small group virtual sessions (as well as one on one sessions) where we can explore the digital materials together. This can happen whether we are in school or not. These books and materials will serve as windows and doors into worlds and stories that need telling. Books provide a platform of learning where students can safely connect with characters that look like them and go through some of the same things they do. These books also provide a window into a world that some students might not know exist. Learning through literature allows us the chance to safely explore socially, historically, and emotionally, prompting growth in any reader. The digital materials will provide current and relevant reading options for my students.
