My students are unique individuals who come to school with different backgrounds and experiences. They bring with them various likes, dislikes, skills, and talents. In respecting those differences, my students have the ability to make choices in their educational journey. From day 1, my students learn that with effort, perseverance, hard work, and responsible choices, they can improve on their skills. Through those efforts to strengthen themselves as students, they are also strengthening themselves as a person. Through the flexible seating environment of our classroom, my students are empowered to make choices in where they work in the classroom, as well as the type of seating they choose. My seating choices respect the students' differing needs for various types of seating, whether it be related to proximity of others, comfort, or movement options.
