Our school district works with local businesses to provide insight into skills needed for employment after high school. Two traits they have told us they are looking for in their employees are critical thinking skills and being able to work with a team. The Famous Inventor Problem Solving STEM kits will allow students to use their creativity and problem-solving skills to build and test famous inventions while learning the processes used by Thomas Edison, Alexander Graham Bell, and Samuel Morse. Because 4th graders are naturally social, I plan to incorporate a group work aspect which will allow students to work together and learn from each other. The Famous Inventors STEM kits will enable my fourth graders to learn about the famous inventors and develop their STEM proficiency while reinforcing their natural social skills.
