My students are my children. They all come from families that are living at or below the poverty line. Each child in my class receives free lunch and free breakfast daily. Most of my children come from single parent homes, and some live with an alternative adult. My classroom is in an open floor plan building that has a lot of windows, so we get lots of natural light. I try to keep the lights off as much as possible to give a more natural light environment. We currently have 8 bullet holes in out buildings windows that we are waiting for the county to fill for us. We hang posters on our windows to try to cover as many of them as possible. My children are hard workers and want more for themselves. We are all working as a team to bridge the achievement gap and to have students that are productive and proficient!
