Everyone enjoys listening to music as they participate in physical activity. Music is used in a variety of ways in physical education. It is used as a motivator to participate in physical activity, but it is also used as a management tool. For example, students know to freeze when the music stops. Having music playing during physical education class makes it more enjoyable and organized. The boombox will afford me the opportunity to teach a dance unit. Beyond that, it will be used during every lesson. When the students are engaging in games, activities, and independent practice, background music will keep them motivated and focused.
