The OSMO is a new tool which combines the technology of an iPad with hands-on tiles first graders love. OSMO's Genius Kit contains applications utilizing numbers, letters, and tangram shapes. These applications, known to first graders as "games", can be played with one or two players and provide differentiated activities for learners at all levels. In addition to being utilized with the OSMO, the iPad itself offers students the opportunity to incorporate digital learning in the classroom. Students will be able to read QR codes, access complete digital libraries, create and produce written projects, document their learning with video and photographs, and more. By having these tools in my classroom, my students are ensured much-needed ready access to technology on a daily basis.
