These books will make a huge difference to my struggling readers AND my advanced readers. Some are graphic novels, so my students can read interesting books but the pictures will help their comprehension. This will also help them not to be discouraged when reading. The more advanced books will provide a better selection for their culture and personal lives. The pencil sharpener is for my student center so if they are missing a pencil, they can always have one and not worry about coming unprepared because they lost one and maybe couldn't afford another. I am really trying to encourage my students to read everyday and if I have a good selection, no one will ever go without a book.
