I am starting up a brand new classroom full of anxious, fun, loving 4 year olds this year. I will have 40 kids total, a combination of a morning class and an afternoon class. Many of my students will have never been in a school setting before entering my class. Providing them with the correct materials to build their learning is essential at this age. The philosophy in my classroom is being able to provide a loving, nurturing play based environment. They need time to play and manipulate items to learn and ask questions about. My students are at an age where discovery is key in their learning. My students need materials in my classroom that allow them to do trial and error, explore with their senses, and create a classroom community. My classroom is empty currently, but will be full of life in a little over a week!
