These books will be used as classroom teaching resources and will also be shared in our classroom library for students to love with their own hands! Students love to hear their teacher read a story (especially one they relate to with the characters' problems)...For example, "Jabari Jumps" is a book about a boy who is scared to jump off the high dive, but with his dad's encouragement, he finally does it, and feels pride and accomplishment. This book teaches about persistence & a major bonus; it has a wonderful African American boy and his dad as the main characters! These books will get read over and over again, becoming loved friends in our classroom! They will provide jumping points for conversations and modeling to shape desired behaviors. Books= helping create loving, caring, supportive citizens in our classrooms and the world!
