I would love to have a document camera in my room to show students the writing process. I believe that in order for students to understand how to write and create, they need to see the creativity behind brainstorming ideas, how to create an outline or plan, what it looks like to make mistakes as you're writing and then to correct those errors. I also believe that in order to be good writers they must also be good readers, and that starts with seeing how a teacher annotates a text. All of these skills can be mastered when students see this being done in written format and projected onto the wall with a document camera.
