One area my students struggle with is focusing all day. Sitting in hard chairs for long periods is very hard for anyone, let alone busy 4th graders! My 4th graders love to be able to work around the room! By being able to work on the floor, my students can be comfortable and focus more energy on their work. Our classroom has carpet, which is very hard to do any writing on. This means that we are stuck at our desks most of the day. By having clipboards and floor desks, students will be able to comfortably work anywhere in the classroom. This not only gives a change from their desk, but also choice as to where to work. A change in work station, as well as being comfortable can help even the lowest student make gains!
