My first-grade students need opportunities that will engage them in math and science activities. Most of my students lack background knowledge in these core academic areas. The Science Discovery Kits and the Design and Build Engineering Centers will provide them with quality hands-on STEM materials to enrich their skills at school. The STEM resources will allow them to work collaboratively, develop critical thinking skills, and enhance problem-solving skills. After exploring with the STEM activities, my students will capture photos of their work. They will use the HP Office Jet Pro Printer to print examples of their work for a personal work portfolio. My students will keep a STEM portfolio with photos and examples of their work. They will write reflections on the pieces they have selected to be in their portfolios. These portfolios will be used during parent conferences by students as they share their progress with their families. Each child in my classroom loves to learn. I know they will be very excited about the opportunity to explore and create with new materials! Thank you for your consideration of this project.
