Flexible seating will certainly increase comfort and concentration, which means that my students will have an increase in academic achievement and retention of concepts. We all learn more, retain more when we are comfortable. I want my students to be comfortable so that they will learn more, learn better. Some students are more comfortable standing as they learn and work with the requested Stand-Up Desks; some students are more comfortable sitting on a yoga ball or a wobble chair so that they have the means to wiggle and stretch. So many of my students come to school without basic needs being met. I want them all to be comfortable, to at least have a choice, have a say in how they best learn. I will be able to hold their attention much longer if they are comfortable, which will certainly lead to higher achievement. Brain-Body compatible classroom. Flexible seating. Better futures.
