There's no day but today to expose my students to the world around them and give them opportunity to see themselves in the books they read. I want my students to identify with the characters and experiences they read about on a daily basis. I want my students to read what it's like for children who may be different than them and to see the power that we all have within ourselves to accept one another, no matter the differences. Exposure and knowledge is key and it can all start in a book.
