In my self-contained classroom, my students have difficulty expressing themselves verbally and often require augmentative communication devices to make their wants and needs known. My students benefit from the use of visuals, audio books, videos, visual social stories, visual schedules, and much more. Students with communication/language disorders excel when given the right technology to access their world. With these iPads, I can reach the students in my room who currently do not use augmentative communication but also struggle with communicating effectively. These iPads can also be used for educational apps and games such as Lexia and Splash Math (Interactive mathematics game).

About my class
