The students in my Art class are some of the most talented, curious and hard working students I have ever met. They are never afraid to try something new, even when they face challenges or obstacles, both physically and emotionally. My school is what I consider a forgotten part of society and the educational system, that does not get the support or attention that it deserves. We are a center school for ESE and EBD students, that cannot or have not been successful in a regular public school setting. We provide a therapeutic setting in which our students can thrive with the real support they need to be successful, in both academics and the real world once they graduate or are integrated back into public school. Art is such an essential and huge part of our curriculum, it allows our students to express themselves or funnel whatever may be going on in their lives, in to a paintbrush and on to paper.

About my class
