Our school is in a rural Arizona community, close to the Mexican and Californian borders. We have a diverse group of students, all of whom have CHOSEN to attend our school because of the rigorous, fast paced curriculum, learning environment, and learning opportunities provided to them. Our students are amazing and as a school we want to give them all possible opportunities to show all of their knowledge. According to PBS Learning Media, 70% of teachers with access to technology in the classroom for their students say it "enables them to do much more than ever before." My 60 5th grade students, and I, could not agree more. Having technology in the classroom opens so many doors for my students. As a school focusing on STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) education, technology is not only a convenience, but a necessity. We need information to be accessible and relevant to our students lives, and technology allows us to do just that.
