The Business Department has the opportunity to participate in the Disney Youth Education Series program for the upcoming 2019 -2020 school year. This program, which is accredited by the Northwest Accreditation Commission, provides hands-on, education programs for student learning that enhance what is already done in the classroom. The programs focus on Business Development, Applied Sciences, Environmental Studies, Liberal Arts, and Leadership Development, . The current business curriculum aids students in their understanding of multiple careers, how business works, how businesses start, function, and thrive, and how business is in every field of study. Students at Henryville High School/West Clark Community Schools need the opportunity to expand their current knowledge and apply that knowledge in real-world experiences. In addition, keeping with cross-curriculum based learning, students have the opportunity to explore career fields that are beyond their typical thought processes. For this current year of study, the programs of interest for this trip are Leadership Strategies, Managing your Personal Brand, Hospitality and Tourism, and Discovering the American Spirit through Entrepreneurship.. These programs were chosen this year for students for these reasons; Leadership Strategies, are needed in all aspects of life whether school, or work related. Students will engage in activities that foster communication and empowerment. Managing your Personal Brand helps students to see their potential and how to find the best in themselves, which incorporates their interviewing projects as well as creating self-esteem. Hospitality and Tourism showing students the value of customer service, business branding, and logistics. Discovering the American Spirit through Entrepreneurship, the basis of the value of hard work, innovation and improvement of products or services, and the basis of what America was founded. We as a department want to help students to discover optimism, idealism, and the act of compromise, while finding pride in their heritage. I feel
