Being comfortable while learning is essential, so by giving students the choice to explore alternative seating options give students the ability to find new ways that help them optimize their learning abilities. This also helps them enjoy school a little bit more. I want my classroom to be a comfortable and welcoming technology driven learning environment where we share our experiences as a team. The items that I have carefully chosen will help my students by giving them the option to make effective learning choices. Exercise balls allow students to sit at a table and bounce and move while working to help them focus and not distract their classmates. Bouncy Bands go on the chairs of regular seats and nervous students can fidget with them to help give them an outlet for their extra energy. All of these items have all been proven to help fidgety students and regular students focus and will be extremely beneficial in our classroom. All the additional seating options will give the classroom a relaxed and productive atmosphere. I have had the opportunity to see how choice can positively affect student's work in other classrooms and this is one aspect that I MUST have in my classroom. I know that alternative seating options will help them learn even more and promote a positive and comfortable learning environment!
