I have a self-contained Special Education classroom. I teach all subjects to my students. I try to provide them with as many different learning experiences as possible to accommodate the various learning style of each student. I mainly serve students with Autism and/or Intellectual Disabilities but that is not what defines them. They are smart, clever, funny, sweet, kind, and generous kids. We are chefs on Mondays. We play instruments in the school band. We are Middle School cheerleaders. We are gardeners. We are Olympians. My most important job as their teacher, is to provide them with the skills that will allow them to lead the most independent future life they can, based on their abilities.
