Many of my students were directly affected by Hurricane Florence. This 3D printer STEM invention project will allow all of my students to design, create, test and redesign a house that will potentially withstand extreme weather and/or flooding. The house will be tested to answer: will the model stay in place when blown by high winds; do any parts of the model wash away in running water; and does the model stand above a water line? The project will give my students a sense of control over this devastating storm and the damaged inflicted to their families, school and community.
