I think my scholars could benefit from learning to play the ukulele. Ukulele is very easy to learn (in my opinion, easier than the recorder and more pleasant to listen to). I have a ukulele of my own that I will sometimes play for the kids. The scholars almost always ask to play it, touch it without permission, and ask questions about it all the time. Ukuleles could be the only contact that these scholars will get with a stringed instrument. I would use them in classroom instruction with my older kids and possibly even start a ukulele choir. These ukuleles will add to the 16 I already have, making this a class set.
