At 12 years old, most students have the attention span to focus on any one thing for 12 minutes. So it is up to teachers to make sure and include movement of some kind or transition into another activity to keep students' attention. One of the best ways to make students into leaders is to give them autonomy. One way that a teacher can do that is to provide flexible seating where students can move, not have assigned seats, and feel like they are more apart of their learning and take ownership in that. I would like to thank everyone who decides to contribute to this project of mine. It has been a dream for a few years now and I cannot wait to unleash my students with a new sense of purpose as we strive to create better students who will become better citizens.
