Hola! I am a Spanish teacher that is teaching at a majorly African-American urban charter high school. My sophomore and juniors are a rowdy bunch that love interactive learning and engaging with the material being taught. I face plenty of challenges as a teacher starting with I simply do not have enough materials for my students. Having to find new methods of teaching my students can be challenging, but pushes me to new bounds as a teacher. My greatest challenge: how do I engage students to learn about a community that they have never interacted with? Better yet, how do I teach that through a foreign language with little to no resources? At the end of the day, I work with what I have and I know it is the students who I am here for and nothing is going to get in the way of that!
