I currently teach Fifth Grade Math at a rural elementary school which happens to be the elementary school I attended when I was a little girl! (How awesome right?!) I will be teaching roughly 70 students for the 2018-2019 school year. Well over half of our students at our school receive either free or reduced lunch and many of them come from low-income families. I not only teach my students math skills but also try my best to teach them to have good manners, be kind to others, push through even when it the going gets tough, work hard to play hard, and most importantly to believe in themselves and respect who they are and want to be. I'm no "teacher of the year" by any means but I know just how grateful I am to get the opportunity to love on "my kids" and show them there's more good in the world than what's around them!
