Fractions are all around us. You can't make a cake or your favorite food from a recipe without using fractions. Sandwiches are cut into fractions and when we eat pizza, we are eating a fraction of the whole pizza. Fractions are part of every day life. My students need more hands-on experience with fractions and using the Rainbow Fraction Teaching System Kit, the Fraction Tower Equivalency Cubes, and the Fraction Number Line Mats will make it easier for them to compare and order fractions and recognize equivalencies. With your help, my students will be able to take ownership of their learning about fractions that will help them in the real world.
