Our classroom is a team-taught social science and English room filled with 45 eager learners. Our classroom is part of a program we call Academy which is designed to provide a safe space to transition freshmen into the high school setting. We believe firmly in educating and supporting the entire child, our unit structure is based around developing better self knowledge to help students better adapt to the new high school environment. Just like the Oracle at Delphi we hope to "Know Thyself." Our days involve lots of team building activities, team guided lessons, as well as cummulative projects where students can demonstrate their learning. Our first unit pairs studying MacBeth with an introductory unit in psychology. As a teacher, the Academy has been one of the most rewarding experiences of our careers as we get to work with people who love children, in a setting that supports them completely.
