In my school and classroom, children are taught through two languages (Spanish and English). The majority of our students are English language learners that come from a low-income background. Regardless of this, they succeed to their greatest potential each day. I find that the more they are held to a higher standard the more they break every barrier standing in their way. I believe that instilling a love for reading will set these children up for success far beyond their first grade year.
