My students are in need of materials and supplies to increase classroom engagement and interest. I am requesting construction paper, highlighters, tape, pens, bulletin boards, wall and ceiling décor for interactive classroom activities and environment. My 10th Grade English Language Arts students still need to pass the FSA state test and lack necessary materials. I will use these materials for my 10th Grade English classes to create interactive, engaging lesson plans and a fun learning classroom environment. Using the construction paper, highlighters, pens, tape, and bulletin boards my students can creatively apply lessons learned in class by working together in small groups to analyze a text, create charts to organize their ideas, create depictions of what they have read, and create rigorous learning. In small groups, they will apply all this onto the construction paper with the use of the other materials to then present to their class members. I will also use the bulletin boards to post up student data and DI Groups. The classroom décor such as the wall decals and ceiling lanterns I will use to create a fun and engaging learning environment. Through these interactive discussion filled activities, with the use of these materials, my students will effectively learn the English standards and therefore prepare them for the FSA standardized state test. Creative lessons introduces our students to a new way of learning. Students stay interested and engaged because it becomes part of their world and relatable. It increases classroom engagement and interest in reading for effective learning.
