My students attend a school in the state of Washington that faces many challenges. Over 55% receive free or reduced lunch, about 27% of our student population is in the ELL (English Language Learner) Program, and many students do not often have access to books other than what is provided at school. My students reflect a wide spectrum of skills, cultures, and abilities. In my classroom, I have 11 boys and 12 girls. Two students receive special education services, 18 of my students speak another language at home, and they are all eager to learn.
