My students are capable of the most sincere kindness and exude the grittiest determination. I help my children learn the importance of adhering to a growth mindset, because many of them are struggling to read grade level text. Despite the magnitude of stress that parallels their economic disadvantages, my students wake up earlier than any of the other kids in the district to be in class most days before the sun rises. I teach students who are beginning to learn English as a second language. These children have just as much potential as any other student in my district if only given the proper tools for support and success. Eagles believe, Eagles Achieve. This is our classroom motto. I try to instill pride and confidence in my students by using the school mascot and positive thinking. They must believe in themselves and put in the necessary effort, and by doing so, they will achieve excellence.
