The Performing Arts are an essential part of a well rounded individual. It can provide many of the same life skills as athletics such as teamwork, synergy, dedication, and training. Theatre often can open doors to amazing new worlds the students have never seen before. It can take you to a magical world of dragons and knights, ancient Greece as the Trojans and Spartans battle, a fairy-tale land with familiar characters interacting in new and exciting ways, or even to a normal school where the characters are just like you. Like many schools, we currently have a cafetorium with only two baton microphones. Having students pass a microphone around for their lines takes the students and the audience out of the true theatrical experience. I would like to give my actors and my audience the experience of a true fully immersive production by providing them with wireless microphones attached to them, as well as a mixing board to be able to control the microphones. This will give the students the full experience and allow them to see what theatre is truly like. Additionally this sound system can be used for assemblies, award ceremonies, and choir concert solos.
