My students are a precious group of ELL students in grades kindergarten through fifth. We area Title I school, meaning that we are predominantly free or reduced lunch. We have a high poverty rate. The school is fortunate enough to have area churches providing backpacks of food to a number of students per week on the weekend. We live in a rural area. Most of my students rent their homes and are very transient, moving from one school in our county to another based on the working situation for the parents.
