We have created a fun, learning experience by putting in a school garden that is protected by 3 of the 4 walls of our school. Each class takes pride in weeding and planting the special space each spring and fall! Which makes for a great space to read or learn with the 4 benches that have been added. Last year, each class decorated a stepping stone and we are hoping to have a sunflower walkway this fall. The sights and experiences the students make when working in the garden are amazing. They learn to weed, plant and care for vegetables, flowers and this year we added herbs. My students need a rain barrel, trowels, rakes. water hoses and hand cultivators. To see the students work and care for the earth given to us and the creatures that are apart of the environment is encouraging for their future. We hope our garden creates Earth loving kids!
