Our school is an inner-city public "magnet" school attracting students from a multi-county area in Michigan. These kids have varied abilities and talents, ranging from the visual and performing arts to mathematics and science. We have a diverse student body in many dimensions: academic interests, culture, socioeconomic status, and so forth. Our school district is economically distressed, making it difficult to provide the experiences that will help our students to a successful future.
