The Computer Science room is used by approximately 160 high school students during the school day, and also serves as our Programming & Robotics Club meeting space 1 - 2 evenings a week. The students are developing applications with Java, competing in cyber security events such as CyberPatriot, VEX Robotics, and designing games as side-projects. Many students, once exposed to programming, fall in love with the field and take additional programming courses that are in this classroom. They often serve as Teacher Assistants and spend additional free time in this classroom whenever possible. The computer programming students are quickly forming a community of peers within the school who love being in the room working on assignments and side projects. They are developing working relationships and leadership with teachers, mentors, and peers as they work in teams to solve problems. They often bounce ideas off each other to develop the best and most efficient solutions.
